Ticket proceeds will benefit our nonprofit community partner Washington FIRST Robotics, whose mission is to inspire all young people in Washington State to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based FIRST programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
Cindy is longtime startup addict who is on her 4th startup company and eyeing her 5th. She is the lucky Mommy to Steffi, 10, Bridget, 7, Jack, 3, and Vivian, 2 and the proud wife to technology visionary Eric Engstrom.
Cindy has been on the leading edge of new consumer technologies creating award winning (CES, TechTV, Mobile Innovation) products and marketing paths with a dot com company called @mobile, a wireless application service provider, and then Wildseed, the innovator of a highly entertaining smartphone, pre iPhone era. Both companies had strong exits.
Cindy is very passionate about the consumer’s role in the advertising value chain and has based the foundation for her current company, Sircle Advertising on the simple premises that the consumer should always benefit from advertising and that advertising should drive sales.
Cindy earned her MBA at Marquette University with additional studies at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and she earned her BA at the University of Toronto in her home country of Canada.
Hayley mixes in a little electrical engineering and patent law between moments spent with her beautiful 7-month old little boy. She works for Seed IP Law Group and is a board member of Women in Technology.
Alice Steinglass runs the product, engineering and marketing teams at Code.org. Her team partners with education and software companies across the industry to run the Hour of Code – a global movement reaching 10’s of millions of students in over 180 countries. Beyond the hour of code, her teams build tools and software to support introductory computer science classes for students from kindergarten through high school.
Alice is dedicated to increasing diversity in computer science by giving every student the opportunity to learn computer science in school. With a student base that is 43% female and 37% African American or Hispanic, Code.org has already enrolled over 2 million girls in our Computer Science Fundamentals classes. Prior to Code.org, Alice managed the PM team for the UX Platform on HoloLens, designed APIs and developer client libraries for Xbox 360, ran an ecosystem outreach and UX team for Windows and built project management tools.
Hoop is a Principal Software Design Engineer who has been working on service platforms and large scale services at Microsoft for over a decade. He has spent the past 5 years working in 343 Industries (a Microsoft Studio) driving the architecture of services that power experiences in the Halo franchise. Outside of work, Hoop is a board member of the University Family YMCA where he applies his passion for closing the achievement gap and equitable access. Hoop is also extremely excited about being a new father to two amazing girls.
Anna is a passionate entrepreneur who is focused on improving the experience and lives for working families. In addition Anna is a wife and mother with 15 years of international corporate experience with companies such as Microsoft and Citigroup. After the birth of her two children—one born in Europe, the second born in the United States—the glaring difference in parental leave policies prompted her to launch LeaveLogic. Anna is recognized as a thought leader in parental leave policies, has been profiled by television and print media. Recently she attended the White House Summit on Working Families.
Kristin Acker is the Vice President, Product Teams at Zillow. One of the first members of the Zillow team, she currently leads a number of product development teams who create the mobile apps and the real estate website. Before Zillow, Kristin led Program Management and User Interface Design teams at several companies including Microsoft, PictureIQ, Expedia, and Pure Networks. At Microsoft, she worked primarily on consumer products such as Money, Publisher, Works, and Picture It. Kristin attended Stanford where she was a varsity rower and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science. She lives in Seattle with her husband and three teenage sons.
